World-renowned Caribbean Artist

Bruce Smith's life is as colourful as his art. He has spent years in the Caribbean sketching and painting local culture while living aboard his sailboat. He has sailed up and down the chain of islands capturing his favourite subjects. He is one of the best-known Caribbean artists, and his self-taught native style can be seen throughout the Caribbean. 

An experienced mariner, Bruce has had a life long love of the sea, and even spent time helping build boats and repairing sails while living in the Caribbean. Bruce and his wife Jan are currently sailing back through the Caribbean after being in the states for the past decade painting for Bahama Breeze, a chain of Caribbean restaurants.

Bruce’s trademark medium is enamel paint on wood. It gives his work its distinctively bold colour and depth and makes his paintings truly representative of Caribbean life and culture.
