Garry Scales

Born in Yorkshire, England, Garry began his formal training at Harrogate School of Art and completed his art education at St. Martin's School of Art in London, winning the National Diploma of Design.

Garry has taught fashion design and drawing, designed stage sets and interiors.  For twenty years he was a senior partner in a Public Relations, Advertising and Promotion company in London.  This led to work with numerous government agencies throughout the world promoting fashion, design and textiles.

A busy career left him with little time for painting for pleasure and, although he has been a visitor to Tortola for over twenty years, he has only recently started painting here, finding his inspiration in the flowers, colours and natural beauty of the British Virgin Islands.
