Tortola has been Linda's
home for over a decade. She was born on the east coast of Canada
where she earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at the Nova Scotia
College of Art and Design (NSCAS University), then moved to Canada's
west coast.
Since relocating to the
BVI she has been photographing, sketching and painting the turquoise
waters, brilliant blue skies and cheerful West Indian architecture.
Recently the beauty of
the Caribbean has captured her imagination through silk painting.
Each piece is a hand-painted original using silk dyes on 100% silk
fabric. Quirky and fun subjects like flapping laundry lines,
lop-sided Century plants and roaming chickens are a few details intended
to make you smile. |
