Margot's paintings are inspired by her passion for gardens and gardening, in particular her garden in the British Virgin Islands.

In Margot's words: "I am drawn to the harmony, order and chaos which exists in nature.  Through surface and colour I want to create the enveloping sensory experience of garden and beach, landscape and plant life.  From memory, using chance and amendment, I layer and rearrange the painting until it reaches a fusion of imagination, knowledge and, primarily, feeling and experience of that place."
