Walton Virginia
Walton is a descendant of Roland Wheelwright, a well-known illustrator
at the turn of the 20th century whose forebears were court painters.
Virginia studied at the
Slade and continued her learning with a wide range of artists. Her
work has brought her international renown and a variety of prestigious
awards, such as the Great Art Prize in Patching's International Art
Competition in 2007.
Her work is currently
exhibited in galleries in Devon, Cornwall, Jersey and the British Virgin
Islands, where her son and his family reside. Virginia visits
Tortola as often as she can and enjoys painting BVI beaches and scenes.
She works in pastel, egg tempera and watercolour and accepts commissions
for certain types of work upon request. |
